Hi — I’ve moved in and inherited a fig tree that is at the bottom of the garden. We left it all while to see how it would grow and we were inundated this year with figs thanks to this very warm year. I would like to prune it to make it grow up as opposed to out. What would be the best thing to do? Cut the two main branches at the bottom?

The RHS has a whole page about pruning and training fig trees: [https://www.rhs.org.uk/fruit/figs/fig-pruning-and-training](https://www.rhs.org.uk/fruit/figs/fig-pruning-and-training)
