I'm a clueless individual. I don't know what to do. When I bought this turf, it was so nice, full of luscious green grass. I cut it once and it was never the same again. That was 4 years ago. This is how it looks today. I've tried weed killers a couple of times. Not sure how much or how long I need to use it for. Nothings changed though.

Any advice is appreciated.

There is grass. But it’s completely overshadowed by the weeds

Weed and feed treatment on a regular works for me. The box will tell you how often but I do once a year. Regular raking, seeding and forking will also kelp.

I think you need to cut it more than once in 4 years.

You have been cutting it way too short.

Leave it a little longer and just cut more oftenat the longer length.

Possibly mulching the clippings may help too (Ie leaving them on the grass to return to the soil naturally instead of carting them away and removing all the nutrients every time)

As the grass gets stronger and more healthy it will choke the weeds out itself.

Total cost -an extra 20 minutes every fortnight.

Personal opinion but the weeds look better and are more interesting.

Too much shade from surrounding properties and fences. Look for shade tolerant grass mixes, embrace a flowering lawn or plant something else.

The majority of the weeds look like dandelions, so if they’re allowed to seed will spread or they might have come in an inferior turf? I’ve found weed’n’feed works well applied in the spring it will need plenty of rain to get washed in, but it will look worse before it looks better! Be careful with any weed products if you have a dog.

Cut short rotorvate and either seed or turf

You need to hire an alpaca, let it out in your garden so it pisses everywhere. Alpaca piss notoriously kills weeds but makes grass thrive. Don’t ask me the science behind it because I don’t know.

What you need is weed and feed on there next spring

Weed and feed, regular mowing and regular seeding too. Once you have the weeks more under control, you can pull them out as you see them. I put grass seed down throughout the year when it’s wet and miles out. It keeps it looking nice!

Kill the weeds. Dig out the big weeds, scarify the whole area, fill the patches you have laid bare with grass seed. Use a bactor or treatment. Pray for water

I would leave it as it is and get some white clover growing in there, a lawn of dandelions and clover is my dream lawn. Look into clover lawns, you might love them.

As long as it all looks green from a distance. It’s fine.
