In my last post, consensus seemed to be that I had cut into the node of each sprout, and that successful propogation was therefore ulikely to impossible: https://www.reddit.com/r/pothos/s/iYy42jPkSb

Update:
They are both still alive, opened their second leaves and started their next leaf, and are making roots.

I am not even here to brag. I am just proud of my little sprouts.

I mean… Just look at them go 🥰

So stupid and happy 🥹

"Doot doot doot I'm a dumb little sprouty plant and I don't understand mortality, oh look some more water for meeeee slurp slurp slurp. It sure is good to be a stupid lil sprout with no tax liability or fear of death 🌱☺️"

People will always say something won’t grow because of something something nodes, and half the time I’ve had it work anyway. I keep telling people nodes can be hidden and still viable but people insist it’s impossible to propagate some of these things that are simply POSSIBLE to propagate! My take is, why not throw it in water and see what happens before giving up? Awesome development!!

ok lemme just say im blown away 🤯 after looking at your original post that it rooted without a node. Thats freaking awesome and good to know!!!!

  3. All of the top comments on your previous post were being encouraging lol

  4. QUATTROthedog

Like 90% of the comments said it could grow

  5. Even the people that thought it wouldn’t grow were still encouraging you to try anyway. You could’ve definitely done without the cringy clickbait title.

Dang, I just looked at the old post – the nodes look fully cut off!

I had no idea they would root without one – but the Pothos proves itself mighty once again.

Oh whats that, no node? Don’t worry, I will just grow a new node and THEN grow roots😝

Pothos will grow in a toilet if you let it hahaha

  8. I also just planted a pothos prop that is only a leaf with a root on it, and I’m so curious to see how it grows now that it’s in dirt! Let’s hope both of ours get big and strong! 💪🌱

I think all posts have those negative Nancy’s. They want to troll the internet from their parents basements simply because they have nothing better to do. Just ignore and let it go.

The people telling you the cutting in your first post had no node were wrong. There is absolutely a node, further proven by the fact it’s growing. The line is the node. I’ve circled it here. Plus the fact that they were top cuts, by that very definition there is automatically a node present. You cannot have two leaves without a node. The amount of misinformation on these plant subs sometimes is bonkers.

Never underestimate a water propagation, truly. 🥂

Never say never 👎 I was told repeatedly that Hoya leaves won’t prop you have to have stem and a node!! Guess who has 4 leaves with roots ready to plant!!!
