


This is one I submitted to a publisher. He thought it was fun and included it in the book✌🏼
Haiku is a form of short poetry developed long ago in Japan. Each haiku begins with a simple scenery then swiftly changes the vibe of that scenery, either by an action or new perspective. Here is a traditional example:
Old pond
Frog jumps in
Plop
Less said the better. The imagination fills the gaps between details if the reader is willing to let the scenery soak in. Another example:
Garden Buddha
knee deep in dead leaves
once again

Reminds of me of the two balloons:
There’s a dad balloon and a baby balloon. They’re floating along and the baby balloon asks ‘what’s that?’ The dad balloon replies ‘don’t touch that! That’s a cactu—ssssss’
