I took cuttings of a beautiful laurel this past August, and put it in a propagation mix as well as dipping the cuttings in rooting hormone.

The pot is a bottom watering system, and I’ve had it the entire plant covered with a bag to form a mini greenhouse.

It was doing fine, until this week.

Getting a lot of yellowing on the leaves and a big leaf drop. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to improve or alter?

I’m thinking overwatering and underfeeding in general. Give it a helping hand of gypsum and manure and cut back on watering. When you water do it deeply so that it drains from the bottom of the pot. Don’t let the soil sit in water- let it dry out between your waterings.

Looks like what my plants do when they’re telling me it’s well past time I fed them instead of just watering them. Let the soil dry out and give it a good feeding, let it dry mostly again and give it a good flush and repeat the process if needed
