I purchased this system last year, and I am looking for ideas on keeping the water cool. I moved all my plants to the garage, and while it’s cool now I can get temps of 80-90 in the garage during summer. The system is put inside a grow tent, and I’ve considered buying a portable AC for the garage to help with temperatures.

I rent so I cannot do any drastic changes. I’ve heard some people also mention freezing iced water bottles and putting them in the buckets. I just don’t know how the root system will take the bottle touching it, and it seems like a lot of extra work.

Thanks for the brainstorming!

I think you can either cool the whole room via AC but don’t use a portable since they are horribly inefficient,
alternatively you could connect your DWC tanks and hook them up to a central Res.
In that central res you can connect a flowthrough chiller and have the cooled solution get distributed to the plants.
If you don’t want to use a central res you could ofc hook each DWC tank to a chiller each but thats overkill for sure.

Interconnecting the buckets makes the most sense so you have a rdwc which allows you to cool cheaply (ice, frozen bottles, a single chiller). Bite the bullet and change to rdwc

I use aquarium chillers, super small and each bucket has there own, no need for cemtral res, extra tubing or water. I have it connected to an inkbird that kicks it on and off when needed.
