So I potted the impulse purchase big box store violet in its strange new home and promptly left for the weekend. I arrived home to a sad floppy violet. I figured that since the reservoir pot had water, that it was a goner…. I dribbled a bit more than a table spoon on from the top anyway. And that perked it right up. Flowers are predictably gone, but look like they might be thinking about making more. And the leaves are definitely growing. It’s sitting under the lights on my sprouting table for now. I’ll find it a window sill later. Still thinking about how to reasonably fertilize it as I assume the terracotta liner filters it out if I put it in the pot. But let me know if I’m wrong about that.
