Are these common for AVs? I usually only hear about them for orchids.

This was to be my first ever bloom from this plant as I got her as a juvenile. I was super excited but was also worried as she started growing flower stems really late (August / September) and I live in Toronto (the land of unpredictable weather lately). She was also the only one to bloom really late.

Turns out I was right to be concerned cause I noticed some of the buds started to dry up as the chilly weather started to set in.

Has this happened to anyone before?

I don’t know what to tell you. AVs tend to bloom when they want to. I’ve never thought they have a “season” to bloom. As long as they have the right light, temps, feeding and watering schedule, they usually bloom. They drop flowers/buds. I’ve never worried about it. Best of Luck.

I’ve had bid blasts on my AVS along with ones that bloom . Unpredictable . Don’t worry she’ll bloom .

Its first flowering, wavy leaves, double or double+ petals. Keep it well hydrated. Its working so hard to open the blooms. I find its normal for those variety. And African Violet bloom better in fall and spring chills in my area.Enjoy your beautiful blooms!🤗👍
