I have a very explorative dog who's been visiting my neighbours garden. At my old house she would do this because our neighbours were family friends so they'd give her treats and she'd play with their dog. Unfortunately now she thinks this is the norm and has been trying to pay our neighbours dog a visit.
We've gone along and wired the hedge so she can't get through but I'm wondering if this will work in the long run or should we just put up a fence instead. I'd much rather keep the hedge as it's a great little eco system, but ultimately keeping my dog in the garden is the top priority.

In dog proofing, you should try to enable the free movement of non-dogs, like hedgehogs. This can be done even with wooden fencing and widening the wire spaces with some wire-cutters!
