Hey everyone. Planted this English lavender around 1 month ago. It’s still flowering well. Should I still prune it back before we get any frost? Many thanks!

Noo,not when its still in flower, think of the insects! 🫣After flowering just a dead-head,slight shaping with, say a shears-or even large scissors.

Leave it, enjoy it, 2 minute job to give it a snip when it’s done – no lower than the leaves though.

You might want to get that dirt off your fence

    Lovely row of plants

Yes, cut down to 20cm. Mine was all pruned in late August.

  5. Once it goes to seed (flowers greyish) cut back to the old growth (don’t cut the leaves at this size)

The Lavender flowers contain linalool which is great for sleep (works on the same receptor as benzodiazepines – Gaba A), you can process it any way from putting it by your bed to making a candle from it to smoking or drinking it.
    Enjoy!

Wait until all the flowers have finished then just cut them off at the base of the stalk, your plants are still very young, next year they will be 4 times this size at this point, that will be when you want to cut them back to this size again.
