Yesterday at Lowe’s, I found this hanging African violet plant on clearance and purchased it. It was labeled Episcia Pink Panther. I feel like it needs to be cleaned up a bit but I’m not sure what to do, where to cut as I’ve never seen one of these before! I have 2 AVs in my sunroom that bloom and are doing great but this is a bit out of my comfort zone. Just had to have it because it’s so cool looking but what now?? Thanks in advance 🙂 y’all have so much knowledge, it’s been so fun reading in this group and it definitely helped me get my plants to bloom.

Episcias are cousins to African Violets. Both are in the Gesneriad family. Your plant should have dead parts plucked or pruned away. This is a ground cover in original habitats so it likes to spread out, or in your case, hang down. Root cuttings in water and plant when roots develop. No direct sun or at least indirect lighting, since in nature these are shaded by a canopy of trees. Keep humidity up for a happy plant but keep the roots well drained, they drown easily.
