Late August I went about pruning lavender in my garden. Left it in the garage to dry.

Sat down yesterday in my garden , making the lavender bunches and tied up with strings. I made 20.

Hanged few around the houses and rest I am going to give it away to friends .

It just makes me so happy to sit in my garden and do stuffs like this with hot cup of tea in between.

I feel so refreshed.

It’s the simplest things in life that make you happy.

Do they bring a nice smell to the house, i will say this is the first time i have seen lavender being used and it makes me want my own lavender plant now

Gardening is therapuetic if thats the right word and i bet it was satisfying to have done this with what you grew yourself

  3. This is my first year gardening, if I cut my lavender right back like that will it regrow next year ok?

    They look beautiful.

I must say that I’m very envious of your leaf free gravel. The gravel in my garden is covered with leaves and twigs. I do clean up the larger bits but it’s a constant losing battle.

  5. We did this at the beginning of September. We tied them into bunches and my little boy set up a stand in the front garden, selling them to passersby to raise money for the Great Ormond’s Street cancer unit.

I bought a few and put them in my tool shed to dry; this has reminded me to get them out and put around the house!

Fold the stems below the flower and upright over the flower, tie together at the top and it holds all the lavendar in a sort of ready made cage, last for years, pop in the pocket of garments in the wardrobe.

First time homeowner here, I have a big old lavender bush in my garden, do I need to do this to ensure it survives until Spring?

I did this in my kitchen and soo many harvestmen spiders crawled out it put me off doing it again 🙃 🤣
