In Central Texas. I removed the Bermuda grass around the tree in the front yard, exposed tree flare, added hardwood mulch till the drip line. Is this good? Do I need to expose more tree flare? Just want to ensure that I have a healthy growing tree. Thank you for your inputs.

Get rid of the choke root
Take off the super small roots at the top. Like in pic one. Really just don’t want em there and it’s fine to chop them off.
