On my other property I have this oak tree.

I heard some buzzing like a drone, I angrily looked up ready to go fight my neighbors for flying over my stuff, but to my surprise it’s just some friendly bees.

ALOT of friendly bees.

Anyways, I assume they don’t hurt the tree.

But , this branch hangs over the fence right over the neighbors house.

Is this tree with bees okay to leave alone? That is all I am here to ask my fellow tree buddies.

There is likely a large cavity in that branch that makes it inherently weaker. If it would damage your neighbors house if it fell, it would be “neighborly ” to have it removed.

We have retrieved hives from trees. It can be a lot of work! And this time of year is certainly not a good time to force them from their cozy home, in fact probably a death sentence. If you can wait until spring, it would be much better to allow them to overwinter with their stores, and then get them. Possibly a Beek with chainsaw skills could just cut the branch and take the part with the hive.

I would have some one come out. To make sure they’re not africanized bees. If they are they are very dangerous.

the bees unfortunately have squatters rights and nothing can be done unfortunately

  7. Do what you are going to do, but be aware that that section of tree is weaker than a fully healthy branch.

You almost certainly have local beekeeper community who would happily come collect those bees from you, if they don’t move on, on their own.

Notch it and drop it onto nana’s bedroom, nothing beats a happy good morning to grandma by crashing a tree through the wall followed by a horde of pissed off bees 🤣

Now s the time to plant a BIG vegetable garden. The best year I had for vegetable yields was when I had sunflowers and all the bees came around and had a few nests in my yard. The amount of veggies I grew were epic.
Maybe you’ll want to have an EpiPen around as well one never knows.
