This garden isn’t strictly native, but most of it is. I’ve also posted some of these before I think, but here’s the full season of this garden’s sophomore year. Photos are early March to early October. The final picture is where it started when we first bought the house. Vancouver Island, BC. Have been attempting something approximating a Garry oak meadow, with enough modifications to keep it interesting all summer as Garry Oak meadows go dormant in our dry-as-chalk summers. In the coming years I’m hoping for our charismatic native bulbs to really start putting on a show in the spring, but so far most are still too young to bloom.
