    Bitter Melon it is. The fruit you’re holding is a fully ripe bitter melon. Unripe fruits are green on the outside and white on the inside. Fully ripe fruits are yellowish orange on the outside and red on the inside.

    It’s popular in some Asian cuisines and regarded for its health benefits. They make stir fries and stews with it. True to its name, it’s very bitter and an acquired taste for sure.

    Thank you for asking! I recently moved to central Florida and saw this growing and was about to take a picture and post myself. I never would have guessed bitter melon I thought it was a weird pomegranate thing with all the seeds.

    I learned it as Balsam Apple. Invasive stinky vine. My Cuban friends tell me it’s medicinal.
