Hey everyone!

I’m converting my furnace room into a small indoor greenhouse and would love some help figuring out:

  • The best layout for shelving/tables/lights
  • Cheap but effective lighting options
  • How to keep things safe around the furnace and tank

I’ve attached photos A to D with colored lines showing the measurements (in inches) so you can get a sense of the space.

Room purpose:
Year-round growing with a super tight budget, mainly veggies and herbs.

Current grow list:

  • Roma & grape tomatoes
  • Sweet peppers (yellow + orange)
  • Herbs: basil, oregano, parsley, cilantro, catnip
  • Beans
  • Possibly zucchini or strawberries if there’s space

I’m open to other easy or high-yield indoor crops people recommend for a setup like this.

What I need help with:

  • Budget lighting ideas (LED shop lights, clamp lights, etc.)
  • Whether shelves or tables make more sense for airflow & maintenance
  • How to handle humidity and furnace safety
  • Creative layout ideas using what’s already in the room

If anyone wants to sketch or mock up a layout suggestion, I’d love that too.
Thanks in advance for any help or photos of similar setups!
