Saw a lil white bulb peeking through my deck yesterday morning.

After work I rushed over to see what it was. It was indeed snakeroot!

Not one, but TWO!!!🌱 πŸ₯Ή

I dug it out and relocated it elsewhere in the backyard. Excited to have more native plants on our backyard.

Oh lord have mercy. Be careful what you wish for. I had a hitchhiker on a native plant I bought. I now have billions (I counted). I see tons of pollinators on them this time of year but they are extremely aggressive. Do not be afraid to manage them ruthlessly when they get going as they will crowd out other plants. My white wood aster is the same.

They’re a great shady area ground cover. Nice fall flowers.

Are you my next-door neighbor? i noticed some on the other side of my fence yesterday. I planted some about a year ago.

I have some in my yard. It is invasive in my area. Sad too since it is a nice looking plant.

  6. This is how I randomly ended up with some forked bluecurls (Trichostema dichotomum). It’s so nice when nature gives you nice natives instead blowing in more invasive nonsense.

Is this the same as Late Bonneset? I have one that just volunteered in my front yard, and the wasps are loving it!

Transplanting during flowering is risky. Letting it go to seed and than scattering the seeds around (as well as transplanting while dormant) is less risky.
