We have been in this home for a year. A tree planted near it seems to have roots growing torwards the foundation based on some uplifted pavers with roots underneath them. The questions I have:
Is the three planted to close to the home?
Is the tree in a bad place with the power line to the home? (Should it be trimmed anyhow?)
Could I cut the roots without killing the tree if it’s not too close? I researched this a bit, but uhhhhh the word is inconclusive.
Any input is most welcomed. New to the area and our trees are palms. So I’m a dunce here.

those kinda trees don’t make roots strong enough to worry about the foundation. maybe if it was a giant oak or pine. but this one should be fine.
I’d be more worried about the city coming by and topping the tree because it’s surrounding the wires you’re gonna wanna trim that so that the city doesn’t make the decision for you
Whoever planted that tree right under the wires was an idiot.
I’m not a professional but if it were my yard I’d pull that one out.
Is it possibly a Hinoki cypress? Not sure, could be trimmed down as mentioned. I’m curious about the vertical firewood along the other bed, is it waiting to be stacked or does it actually function as edging? Nice walkway btw!
Roots: not a problem, leave them alone.
You could have some of the smaller limbs removed to make space for the wires, just some simple pruning.
Arborvitae Roots won’t bother a foundation. The only problem I see is the power line. I wouldn’t be comfortable with it, if it was mine.
The foundation is safe, the paver path is not. If you need the path to stay level (which is usually the whole point) trim the roots sooner rather than later. The longer you wait the more stressful removing them will be for the tree.
