As I said, I bought these at an Amish market and I’m trying to figure out what kind of grapes they are because they’re inedible. When I put one in my mouth, there’s a burst of flavor once I puncture the skin and it’s actually delicious… But the meat of the fruit inside… I literally can’t chew through it with my teeth. It’s almost like a soft plastic that I can’t puncture, although there are seeds inside of it as well.
Literally, I’m having trouble describing to you, the sensation of trying to chew through this. Like a soft round ball of mush that just won’t be sliced by my teeth. I’ve never encountered a grape that I can’t chew up.

Concord grapes?
Great flavor, thicker skinned, big ole seeds. Love eating those things, assuming that’s what they are. Though I remember them burning my mouth when eating too many, a bit like what happens when eating pineapple?
Definitely a kind of [slip-skin](https://surfingbutterfly.wordpress.com/2010/10/25/heard-of-slip-skin-grapes-neither-did-i-till-now/) grape with opaque skin. The varieties depend on the location – here we have the white Noah grapes which are my favorite of all time. My guess for North America would be Concord, but there are are many others I’m not familiar with since I’m from across the ocean.
You eat slip-skins by applying pressure on the skin with the tongue so the skin peels off, then swallowing both the skin and the core without chewing. If you bite down it’s very tart and bitter. Their skin-deep sweet and flowery flavor is worth it in my book!

Probably the same texture as lychee fruit, i thought it would be succulent and snappy but instead it just made me uncomfortable to put in my mouth
I just made 50 jars of Concord grape jelly over the weekend from the vine in my yard. We give them to family and friends at Christmas. It’s pretty delicious
You are so lucky! They look like Concord grapes! My favorite fruit of all time, they are delicious. Just push the seeds out of the goo with your teeth, spit out seeds and swallow the goo whole.
