Cutting stalk of diseased tree and healthy regrowth

Hello,

I had a 4'-5' diseased fiddle leaf that I clipped and propagated. What was left was a 2" bit of leader that is shooting leaves prodigiously. At this point, should I be leaving as is while it leafs out or should I be culling as needed and if so, what goes? Also, would this change the sun conditions / placement in my apartment?
