This is my very first terrarium and I challenged myself to not spend anything on it.

Plants used: Centella asiatica, moss, and Pilea microphylla (all from my garden).

Substrate mix: construction sand + garden soil + coconut fibre (from kitchen) + homemade activated charcoal.

Drainage: pea gravel with a layer of mosquito net.

Container: a reused honey jar.

Super fun build and satisfying to recycle what I had at home. Excited to see how it grows!

cool, this is great for beginners like me :).
Do you plan to occasionally open it to prevent mold?

We love doing it for free! I recently went and foraged 3 boxes of moss so I’ve been going crazy! Love what you’ve done with the jar. I just used some old jam jars today 🙂
