Saw an older man harvesting this at the side of a canal in north central Luzon. He told me what it was in filipino, but i couldn't pronounce it and didn't retain it. He said it was eaten cooked and good for the stomach.

    Jute. Probably either *Corchorus olitorius* or *Corchorus capsularis*.

    Saluyot in Filipino. Jute leaves or Corchorus olitorius. When cooked it becomes slimy similar to okra.
