I made this terrarium 5 years ago and sealed it up. It is still growing well but has a weird sludgy slime at the bottom.. should I keep it sealed or try and open and maintain the plants a bit? Is there anything I can add to remove the slime?

I’d do some maintenance on it. Can you get better pictures of the slime. It almost looks like a diatom algae you see in aquariums.
