BBC star Monty Don gave fans a sneak peek as he filmed inside his new “dog house”. The Gardeners’ World presenter – who is known to be an animal lover – has been working on the exciting new project for some time, occasionally giving fans the odd glimpse at the wood and brick room.

The cosy corner seems to be complete, as the star has now shared a snap on Instagram showing a camera crew inside.

“First filming inside the Dog house!” teased the star, whose beloved Golden Retriever Ned often appears on his TV show with him.

Fans were intrigued by the snaps of the dog house, which it’s thought could be for Ned and Monty’s other dog Patti.

“Woww, exciting!” one person exclaimed in the comments section after the star uploaded the shot to his grid, with another adding: “Wish I was there, too!”

“We look forward to the episode!” said someone else, as another fan dropped a string of clapping emojis.

“Who let the dogs out?!” joked someone else.

Monty, 70, had shared a picture of the house a week ago as he teased that it was “nearing completion”. He was bombarded with questions over the house, with fans asking if it was for his canine friends.

“What are you going to use the dog house for Monty?” asked one, as another quipped: “Well wouldn’t mind being in the doghouse!” “Nice when can I move in!!!”

One teased: “You could move in if the wife grumbles at you.”

“Wow! Ned and Patti will have to invite friends over,” another person commented.

Others wondered whether it would commemorate his old Golden Retrievers Nigel and Nell, who have both passed away.

“Looks grand, will there be anything inside to remember lovable Nigel and Nellie, bless them, they too would be at home there,” one person remarked.

Monty announced on Instagram in 2020 that Nigel had “suddenly taken ill” and “slipped quietly away with no pain or suffering and is now buried in the garden with lots of tennis balls”. In 2023 he told fans that Nell had died after being diagnosed with cancer.

Gardeners’ World airs next Friday at 8pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
