I asked my sister if she could start a cutting of her snake plant and when I visited her she showed me and I found out she had kept them in a closed jar for 5 months!!! The water has never been changed and there is a white film along the bottom which I’m assuming is mould….. I can see some healthy looking roots but should I just bin the whole thing? And if anyone knows about this mould please let me know as well if it is dangerous and if I should open this jar.

can’t say if it would be dangerous or not but if there’s roots and green then I would say they are proppable

you don’t need to change water on propagation, but airflow is good to have lol.

Should be fine if you plant them, but maybe put on a glove

Open it and plant the props in soil. Soak to avoid root shock. You can pour the jar water right on them too. Up to you to wear a mask and gloves if mould grosses you out.
