Do the orange ones not work for this?
The 2 or 3 "beard strands" visible in the pictures are not new growth , it's been there from the beginning.

i can never tell which end is which with these things.. depending on the variety, storage conditions, etc. plants can have very different rooting times. as long as it is not rotting, just wait.
Do you always propagate in a fish tank?
Some plants grow slower than others. It’ll grow just give it time
