This was the first year attempting solarization for a large backyard flower meadow bed in New Jersey Zone 6. My plan is to remove the plastic sheeting October 1st, add organic materials, then mix in flower seeds.
Two questions:
1) Which of the 4 soil additions options from this list would work best? Perhaps a combination? (May have to click on photo so see full list, vertical photo)
2) Does it matter if I mix in flower seeds before or after the first frost?
Thanks!

You shouldn’t need to add soil. Just rake up any dead vegetation and lightly scratch up the surface. You don’t need to go deep. Prairie Nursery has a seeding guide.

If you have bindweed in this area, I’d wait until you have it under control. Smothering it for a season won’t work. It’s my biggest issue and it’s a nightmare. I wish I had waited.
