Related to the popular jade that you're all undoubtedly familiar with, this is Crassula multicava. It's an evergreen succulent groundcover that thrives in shade.

They are in flower at the moment (Cape Town, early spring), not a terribly showy flower but they look stunning planted in mass.

Super easy to propagate – you can literally just break a piece off and put it directly into soil – but I took already rooted bits to speed things up. I already have some in my garden from cuttings taken out and about, but I need more! Maybe I should go back on Monday and save some more. But also, I don't want to be that guy who always leaves with arms laden with rescues!

Shame, there's some stunning palms, several huge Euphorbia ingens, and a couple of other large things that are unfortunately in the way. It is an existing house that's getting demolished soon, and challenging access to site means that it isn't practically nor financially feasible to try and harvest plants for re-use. But it's all a bit haphazard anyway, so we're keen to start with a clean slate. Mostly exotics.
