Hi I hope you’re having a great day, or an unexpected amazing surprise happens to you 🙂

My work has unspokenly made me the plant caretaker, so I figure all the cuttings I want are fair game. Heh!

I have this little rubber tree cutting from a tree they are torturing Guantanamo Bay style. It’s grown this long root with mini roots coming off.

I’m patient, so if you tell me I need to wait 3 more months that’s okay. I’d just like to know what it should look like before I try and pot it.

I plan to go back for more rubber tree babies. I’m allowed to water them and take cuttings but they won’t let me repot them. If you could see the way the roots are spilling out of the top of the mother plant. It’s diabolical! Anyways. Thanks I’m advance!

Are those white pieces perlite or drowned mealy bugs? 😂
Anyway wait until the root system is reasonably able to support the growing part! I’d wait a week or so more at least!

I would wait until you have at least another long root with secondary roots coming off it, but ideally you should wait until it has 4 long roots all with secondary roots

I’d give this at least a couple more weeks of root development. That single root to support the size of that cutting seems risky.
