I’ve tried taking cuttings from some of these and they just die. Since they told me I could take these, I’d like to try to save the roots so they don’t just die. Any ideas for how to uproot some of these and transplant them? I’ve never done anything like this

Bring a shovel, a tarp or multiple buckets, water, and dig them out. Wrap in tarp after water sprinkling on exposed roots and plant asap when home.
Do not take pic number 5. I don’t know what it’s called but it is almost impossible to get rid of and it grows like bamboo. I hate that stuff!
Pick a cooler, cloudy or rainy day. If not an option, go early in the morning. Dig you holes and fill them with water. When replanting, add some good all purpose planting soil. Once replanted, water again. Water daily for 2 weeks.
What zone are you in? Kind of looks hot and dry.
These plants like a sunny spot with good drainage when you do plant them.
#1 and #9 look like Russian Sage. I transplanted some at my last house. Grows invasively. I would never plant it again.
Shovel. Contractor grade garbage bags.
Go to town.
