So, it's been more than a year since I've planted this tree after years of having it on my wishlist.
The leaves are turning yellow and the side branches are sorta weird.
I'd like the tree to make a thick truck as it grows (I've attached google images of what the mature tree looks like)
It shed all its leaves last winter
I realise it's gonna take many many years for this tree to mature and flower
I was wondering if I should prune the side branches? Or is there a technique of topping to make sure the trunk gets as thick as possible?
