It will heal over time and if you work on it you can get a sprout from below the girdling If you truly girdle it just below the rope girdling it likely will send shoots from below Guaranteed? No but reasonable chance Just letting it grow there’s about a fifty % intact and it will grow over it Should it have been sold not at full price There are two avenues of survival Just letting it grow will leave a weekspot so keep it? Or not Personally I’d try the complete girdle and get a shoot from below
