I live in a very wooded area and my backyard is a lot of woods and forest. Recently a few pretty large trees were taken down leaving tons of sticks and debris everywhere. I notice also a lot of the trees have tons of dead wood as well as some trees falling over. I imagine maybe taking out these big trees disrupted the stability of other trees.
I am in the process of cleaning up poison ivy and a lot of leaves that where blown back their and I’m curious if there is any general advice of dos and don’t when it comes to clean up as I want to potentially plant more native perennials and flowers in the area bordering the forest but want to be mindful of what is there. As well as building a rock wall(dry stack) and potential small flagstone patio under fire pit.
Does anything stick out to anyone, I am curious wether these trees look healthy or not. I know these photos are not too great so let me know if something more specific would help.
Sorry if I’m not being to specific having a hard time looking for good place to start when it comes maintaining areas like these as it feels very neglected.
