A wonderful lady gifted me the ends from her giant SOH plant for me to propagate the other day. They have blooms and seed pods too! But I’ve never successfully soil propagated before and I’m not sure that I’m doing this right. I got new potting soil and put all the strands in a shallow dish, and put a bit of root growth hormones on all of the nodes. Any advice I should know? How often should these be watered when they are propagating? What’s the best way to make sure the nodes are laid on top of the soil properly? I don’t want to mess this one up like my last batch of SOH props.

Following, also I wonder if you have to spray it water so it’ll be easier to start rooting?
I’ve only managed to prop soh in a lidded seed tray with high humidity and constantly damp (not wet through, just misted with a spray bottle daily) soil. I’ve done this with the butterfly method and with vine tubers, they all had roots within a week.
I’ve tried it in regular uncovered pots too and they always dry out even with regular misting.
As long as the nodes are against the soil, they will root
