I’ve been calling tree guys weeks to help me trim this tree because I saw it sagging, the tree is has a big V and after a wind storm it split I put some two by fours underneath it in several spots because it’s only like five or 6 feet off the ground, as well as took as many branches from the end, and it rose up by itself, but it was not able to close the split, I see a lot of guys say they use bolts, but the bolts will go more from the top to the bottom, not left to right. I have plenty of ratchet straps so I think I can close it and then lift it from the branch above it to take some more weight off it
do you think I can save this tree? I am angry because I’ve been calling tree guys for weeks and none of them showed up and I know if the weight was taken off beforehand I wouldn’t have this problem.

Bolts can work from left to right if you use a steel cable. Also ratchet traps to try to seal the wound back together. Unfortunately, the weight is the problem and needs to be reduced before doing any of this
I think my problem will be closing that gap
it is stable
If you can get it fully closed, it’ll heal, but getting it fully closed is going to be real tough.
Honestly if I saw a 24in crack, I would just choose the one branch on either side of the crack and cut it off to save the other side but I see what you’re saying about trying to save it over the house! Good luck!
I wish I can update photos
I have seen trees natural heal wounds bigger than this, a ratchet strap will work, I have seen it work. The other commentator nailed it on the head, id slowly remove weight from this branch over the course of a few seasons. I wish I saw a picture of the whole tree. You could potentially remove this branch whole, or just reduce weight dramatically and then let it heal naturally.
