This tree was small when I bought the house but its now outgrown its area. Will it survive being dug up and replanted?

That is a dwarf Alberta spruce, chances are low without a lot of care. Even then they aren’t great when you transplant something.

It doesn’t warrant replanting. However, it is too large for where it is now. I’d just replace it with something else that has a smaller footprint.

I’m guessing it won’t get much bigger than this, if you’re looking to keep it, you could extend your sidewalk with brick or something that would add character and then flow into a garden bed down the driveway. Just as an added potential solution you may not be thinking of.

Move it in October. You may kill it, but what do you have to lose?

Maybe, but with the concrete around it you won’t get a great root ball. The backside of that Alberta won’t come back. Transplanting would also possibly cause some die off. This wouldn’t come back either. If it was mine I wouldn’t waste my time.

Even if you can, there will be a bare part that will never grow.
