Sorry for the iffy photos, its all pretty dense, so its hard to not have it look clustered. SW coastal alaska. But I was curious as to what is wrong with my pine trees, and if stuff like this is savable or if I should just take them down? they are like half dead, from the bottom up and yellowing at the tips. I don't see any beetle marks under the dead sections bark. I do need to backfill a bit in that whole area, but nothing is extremely exposed around the roots. My water table is very high, 4 feet down ish. there is a natural lake, that you can kind of see in the background, that originated as a gravel pit, until they accidentally hit a natural spring and sunk it. I would honestly like to try to save them as they are a fantastic privacy fence. But I'm open to taking them down if I really need to.

Not looking good unfortunately, from what I can tell from those photos.
They’re not dead until they’re dead.
If the tops are green, they may recover.
I’d wait and see. Maybe deadwood them if you are concerned about ladder fuel. The other conifers will fill in.
They still have plenty of green, I would leave them and see what happens. There’s plenty of trees in my area that have been like that for years.
If you’re concerned about fire at all, trim off the lowest 6-8 feet of branches to reduce the risk.
