So I noticed a few strands drying out, and I untangle the strands on top and its bald!!, idk if I can rescue or whats the best option, what did i do wrong (again) with my string of pearls?

Yep. Time for the comb over.
Take a few strands and spiral them in the bald area, try to tuck the stem parts lightly in soil and sprinkle a little more soil on top!
I only see maybe five out of 25 strings here that could even have leaves that would be on the top of the pot. The stems mostly just drape over the edges.
