This string of pearls was potted in peat moss so I've prepared a grittier soil. Only problem is that now it's a mess of pearls and roots. Is there a specific way to do this?

I am not an expert as I am just now *kind of* keeping my 4th string of pearls alive, as the others all died, but I know the strands can just be kind of laid on top of the soil and they take root. If it were me, I’d probably try to get what roots I can buried, and then let everything else either hang over the edge, or just curl it on the top of the pot to root.

I’d probably start by trying to detangle the bigger roots. It’s not a fun project though. I spent an hour last week untangling roots from a different succulent.

And maybe try and untangle some of the longer strands so they’re not all coiled in a mess on top of the pot. Even if you can separate just a few strings it’ll help a lot and will be less overwhelming.

Buuuut even if they were all untangled and neat it’s a whole other beast to wrangle so many roots and make sure they get buried at the proper depth. Or you’ll get all the roots covered except 3 and you can’t stuff those roots in the soil and you have to start again 😅 I’ve repotted too many strings of things this week

I untangled mine and individually pushed the roots into soil with a bamboo skewer, took awhile but it was the best way I could do it😅
