My wife and I are just curious what kind of plant/bush we have growing at our rental home. It gets barren in the fall and grows like crazy late spring into summer. Northeastern Colorado region.

False spiraea, *Sorbaria sorbifolia*. For a time, builders there must have gotten a discount because they were commonly planted. We found that the suckering and ranginess were too much and ripped ours out (with some difficulty).

    Great foliage. Nice flower too.

    Reminds me of Goatsbeard

False spirea, this is a big perennial that almost serves as a shrub for ground cover in a bigger area. Here in Ontario Canada, many gas stations, business, school and mall , plaza use it for their landscape green, they grow fast and take over the whole garden bed easily, or to block and hide utility box, garbage bins, Hydro poll , or for fences. The botonical name is sorbaria sorbifolia , if you have this plant you need to prune it all the time , they can grow in sun to part shade , one of the lazy gardening plants i would say, unless you give up to plant other things, growing this plant is the last solution, i truly dislike it, , the flowers has some fragrance, and in many places they are turning into invasive.
