Children’s Art and Craft Summer Camps will be held during July and August in Tearmann Community Garden, facilitated by Olha. These will be small groups to allow for more individual attention. They will all take place from Monday to Thursday, 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. The dates of the camps are: Camp 1 (5-8 yrs) – July 14 to 17; Camp 2 (8-12 yrs) – July 21 to 24; Camp 3 (5-8 yrs) – July 28 to 31; Camp 4 (8-12 yrs) – August 3 to 7. Camps will include indoor and outdoor activities including painting, crafts, games, nature study, skill coordination games. Fostering Information Day

Dermot and Liz Harmon from Rural Revival are teaming up once again with Tusla to host a Fostering Information Day on Wednesday, June 25. It will be held in Rural Revival on Main Street, Baltinglass from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. It will include a photographic Exhibition,’ A Day in the Life of Foster Families’, tea coffee and scones, with an opportunity to chat to the fostering team from Tusla, and foster carers present. Women’s Group

The next event of the Women’s Group is a relaxing and calming Sound Bath & Yoga by Eimear from Foxglove on Saturday, July 12 at 7 p.m. Spaces are limited so pre-booking and payment is required at €15 per space. Eimear will lead a beautiful Sound Bath to help you find Suaimhneas (contentment), tranquility, calm, ease and peace. Bring a yoga mat, cushion and a blanket. Community Field closure

Grangecon Community announced the closure of the Community Field & playground from this Wednesday, June 25 up to and including the weekend of July 12/13. There will be no access to the playground or parking spaces at the entrance during this time. This is to facilitate exciting new renovation works for everyone in the community to use and enjoy. The community can look forward to the addition of a new 3×3 basketball court, outdoor table tennis table and walking track around the existing pitch area. This project is a work in progress for the Field Committee for a number of years with the support of Leader funding. Thank you all for your understanding and support.

Knockananna Car Boot

The next Car Boot Sale in Knockananna takes place this coming Saturday, June 28 in the Hall. The Hall will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you would like to claim a pitch, entry is €10 and a table will be provided. There will be break of Sales over the summer and they will resume again on the last Saturday in September. Come along this Saturday and pick yourself up some bargains.

Jubilee celebrations

Last Friday marked a very special day for our former Parish Priest Fr. Tommy Dillon. Fr. Tommy, as he was affectionately called while in Baltinglass, celebrated 60 years (a Jubilee) in the priesthood last Friday. A thanksgiving Mass was celebrated by Bishop Nulty in Holy Family Church in Askea, Carlow attended by his family and many friends. Choirs from Askea, Bennekerry and Tinryland contributed to the celebration. Huge congratulations to Fr. Tommy, a much loved Priest during his time in Baltinglass.

Men’s Shed

The Men’s Shed gather in the building beside Tearmann Community Gardens on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. All men are more than welcome to join.

Rathbran Cemetery

The Stratford Community is suggesting that a Cemetery Committee to oversee the upkeep on the Rathbran Cemetery be set up. Loved ones of locals are buried there and they want to show love and respect for them in their resting place. There will be a meeting this Wednesday, June 25 at 8 p.m. in Stratford Community Room. All are welcome.

Recycled Arts & Crafts Project

The fourth session of the Recycling Art & Crafts project by Baltinglass Tidy Towns and Wicklow County Council will take place in Tearmann Community Garden on Friday, July 4 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free and it is open to all adults and teenagers. Summer Camp

Two Happy Days Summer camps will take place in Knocklishen Beg, Kiltegan this year. Camp 1 dates are Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11. Camp 2 dates are Monday, August 4 to Friday, August 8. The times for both camps is 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and for ages 6-12. Activities will include Kids Yoga, Art & Crafts, Indoor/outdoor Games, Music, Exploring Nature. Variety Night

John Lennon and the St. Tegan’s Hall Committee will present music of all varieties, with a Special Guest appearance of David Lofts on Thursday, July 3. Rhythm & Blues, traditional Irish, Irish and American Country, Ballads and Ukrainian Sounds. If you like music, the night of July 3 in St. Tegan’s Hall, Kiltegan, starting at 8 p.m. is not to be missed. There will also be a raffle and some refreshments as part of the night. Grangecon Store Cupboard

Remember Grangecon Store Cupboard is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside Moore’s Pub. Their Free to Take: Free to Give harvest share stand is now open for business. If you have any seeds, seedlings, plants or harvested fruit or veg that you are unlikely to use, please do bring them along to be shared. They also have a recycling caddy ready to take a growing list of household items that might otherwise go to waste (check their facebook page to see what items can be taken). The Free to Take basket will be back with lots of gift bags fit for reuse, and don’t forget the DIY Care & Share table which is a permanent fixture in the village. Have a look for any small DIY items you might have need of, or bring along any of your own that you no longer need. See you next Saturday.
