I had an avocado growing from seed in a pot on windowsill, and recently gave it bigger pot and moved outdoors. Within a week the leaves were yellowing. Is it just transplant stress? What can I do to save it? 6a here.

It looks like the leaves may have gotten sunburned from moving into full sun too suddenly. It looks chlorotic also, which indicates lack of nitrogen, so I would take it out of the soil and check the roots for damage. If there’s any sign of rot, remove the damaged parts and repot it in new soil. Give it a low-level fertilizer and see if it produces new growth.

  2. Does the pot have a hole in the bottom, proper drainage?
