This lilac was here when I moved in 5 years ago. It never grows more than this small bush and only puts out one branch every summer.
Since it is so small and bushy, I was exactly sure the best method for pruning.
Area gets full sun.

I’ve had failure to thrive bushes that never snap out of it. Trim the tips off back to a bud after the flowers are spent and see if it starts growing more. Best you can do. If not let it do its thing or replace it.
