I am trying to figure out what has stalled/stressed my propagated African violet. This Is my first time propagating one of these; I planted the main leaf into a solo cup with seed starting mix around February. Leaves finally emerged sometime last month, but since then they have either stayed the same size or turned colour as you can see in the photo.

I was afraid the soil might’ve been too wet so I removed it from the plastic bag I had covering it to let it dry out. Today, I decided to repot it because I thought perhaps it has rooted to the point of needed more space, but when I removed it from the cup there were no visible roots to be seen. I planted it in its new home anyway and now it’s in a 6 inch pot and has been given a watering.

Im not sure what else do so I’ve come here to hopefully gather some more knowledgeable insight.

It needs to grow more roots before you see growth on top. I recommend to pot it in 2 inch pot and it will be easier for it to fill the pot with roots. Once it consume the mother leaf and got rootbound then transplant into 3″pot and next to 4″pot assuming that you are growing Standard size variety. Dont forget to mix some perlite ( atleast 20% if bottom watering) with your African Violet soil and pre-moistened every potting so roots can easily adapt. Keep it bag while growing the babys. Hope this helps.🤗
