Austin Design Works wins a ‘4 Golden Star’ award at RHS Chelsea Flower Show for its Society of Garden Landscape Designers (SGLD) stand.
Designed by its co-founder, Rachael Austin, the stand was inspired by high-fashion window displays, theatrical set design and imagery from the recent Wicked film.
Working alongside Austin Design Works, illustrator Jenny Bowers helped to create the hand-drawn, white-painted stage set.
Austin Design Works recently celebrated its first year as a certified B Corporation, while focusing on making conscious decisions.
To celebrate SGLD communities, the stand design focused on accessibility and inclusivity by using ramps and enhanced audio descriptions.
Austin says she is “proud” to have won the award, while being so close to attaining the maximum of 5 stars. She adds:
“It’s a celebration of the power of gardens to inspire, connect, and include everyone.”
