It looks like this now, whereas before it looked like the second picture, which was taken some months ago. The lower leaves were getting floppy and pale so I bought these "houseplant scissors" from Amazon (3rd photo) which turned out to be a lot bigger than I thought they would be. I tried cutting off the bottom leaves but these scissors were awkward and I removed healthy leaves as well. Now it's all curling under – it's not floppy – and I've always watered it from the bottom. The soil is somewhat moist. I don't see any fungus or anything. I cut this about a month or so ago and now its leaves are all curling under but they are not floppy, they are firm. Any advice please?

After big blooming, potting in a new fresh soil helps a lot to rejuvinate the plant. Old soil always get compacted and later on will suffocate the roots. You can remove the old outer leaves with your thumb and forefinger, no need to use scissors. Just hold the leaf stem close to main stem and wiggle side to side until it snap.A well hydrated AV will snap easily.Hope this helps🤗

Liquid feed according to instructions. Slightly more water generally from the bottom. Flowering and growing is a hungry business.
