I picked these two prettys from the Lowes clearance section today. They were a little roughed up, but I could see potential. I trimmed the broken stems and deadheaded the spent blooms and I think they cleaned up nicely. Should I even them out by taking the big outside leaves to prop, or leave for now since they are probably doing the most work?

I am by far not an expert, but I’d leave the leaves and trim off the flowers. Personally, I’d want the energy to go to rebuilding the plant and not to flowers. But like I said, I’m no expert. Best of luck with them.

Rather old and new leaves don’t prop well. The big ones may be old and the little ones are definitely new. I guess I’d wait until it has some time to grow.

Give them a week or two to get used to their new home. Then, I’d repot into new potting mix. Propagate one or more of the older leaves then. Don’t go to a larger pot size for a while yet.
