I've procured some discount African violets from a grocery store. It looks like they've bloomed and the blooms are dead? Do I prune them off? And if so, where, at the very base of the stalk? Should I use my fingers and pinch it off or cut it off cleanly with a tool? Attached are pics.

    Yes, take off the dead blooms. If the stems of the flower stock are still stiff they usually will break off at the base by apply some side pressure at the flower stock’s base. If the flower stock is dried out, then a tug on the stock will usually have it break clean off the plant. Sorry, I’m not describing it well. Best of luck.
