Hi all,

I’ve had this fig for probably 10 years and have never chopped it or anything. I’m moving across the country and came to this sub to learn about figs and traveling and didn’t realize it was such a common thing to do!

I was thinking I could chop it right above where the new leaves came out on the trunk? Then can I cut the two leafed out branches into separate sticks and put them in water?

Thanks

Yes,chop both branches off and put them in water for rooting..that trunk will bud again in several weeks+

..Flf is tropical plant, lt needs sunlight so much..lt’s better to place it by brighter window..l suggest watering it once every 10-14days(must water it thoroughly each time)..and don’t keep excess water in saucer after watering, because this water can cause root rot

    Now is Summer,do it asap!

^ what they said! also the leaves look a bit dry, make sure to dust them and I like to mist them every once in a while too!
